Successful installation of a catenary equipment in India
Our teams successfully carried out the installation and testing of a catenary rolling and unrolling wagon at the Alipurduar site in West Bengal, India with the client TATA projects, which is a TATA group subsidiary responsible for the railway sector.
Completed within the time permitted in very difficult conditions, the operations went properly in accordance with safety and quality requirements, to the complete satisfaction of the client. The final step will involve commissioning the equipment and training the operators.
The rolling and unrolling wagon is intended for electrification works on the lines linking Jalpaiguri to Bengaigaon. This project is led by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), subsidiary of Indian railways in charge of the network electrification.
This innovative technology allows to simultaneously unroll catenary wires up to 3,1 mph, while ensuring a continuous mechanical tension. Well noted for its performances in terms of automation, accuracy and safety, this wagon type has already been provided to several clients, notably in Russia, China, South Korea, Poland, Brazil and the Unites States.
